Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Dearlie is a relationship memory and gifting assistant iOS application developed by Dearlie Labs, LLC. This Privacy Policy describes how Dearlie handles information when you use the app. It is written in plain language and reflects Dearlie's current practices as of the effective date above.

This policy applies to the Dearlie iOS app and dearlie.app. See Section 11 for how we handle updates to this policy.

2. Information You Provide

When you use Dearlie, you provide the following information, which is stored on your iPhone:

You can import contacts from your iPhone's address book if you grant permission, or add them manually.

3. How This Information Is Stored

Information you enter in Dearlie is stored on your iPhone using SwiftData (Apple's local database framework) with iOS file protection applied to the database files. This data is not synced to our servers.

When you uninstall Dearlie, all local data is removed from your device per Apple's standard app uninstall behavior.

4. Information Sent to Our Backend

Dearlie sends limited information to our backend service at api.dearlie.app to power AI gift suggestions and enforce rate limits:

5. Third-Party Services

Dearlie uses the following third-party services:

6. Affiliate Links

Dearlie shows product suggestions that include "Buy" buttons. These buttons open the retailer's website in Safari via an affiliate-tracked link. If you make a purchase after tapping the link, Dearlie may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Once you leave the app for a retailer's website, that retailer's own privacy practices apply to your interaction with them. Dearlie does not track what you do on retailer websites.

Every suggestion card in the app displays an affiliate disclosure per FTC guidelines.

7. Analytics and Tracking

Dearlie does not integrate third-party analytics SDKs, behavioral tracking SDKs, or advertising SDKs. Our backend maintains aggregated, anonymized request logs (anonymized device identifier, status code, latency) for debugging and rate limiting. These logs are retained for 7 days.

8. Data Retention

9. Your Rights

You can access, edit, or delete any information stored in Dearlie at any time within the app. Uninstalling Dearlie removes all local data from your device.

California residents: Dearlie does not sell personal information. California residents may contact privacy@dearlie.app to exercise rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to contact us about your data, email privacy@dearlie.app.

10. Children's Privacy
